Letter to the editor- Holds board responsible

To the editor:

I am writing this letter in regard to the Douglas County School Board. After having time to reflect over the actions of their past meeting and earlier, related meetings regarding the issue of determining a permanent principal at Gardnerville Elementary School, I have come to a sad conclusion.

If the school board would have had the knowledge in how to properly agendize a meeting, run it properly and abide by standard voting procedures, then we all could feel a lot more comfortable with their actions. With that being said, I hold our school board totally responsible for turning such a simple issue as the choice of a principal into such a fiasco.

I know others and I will remember these past few months of the school board’s total lack of regard for its constituency at the next election. I hope you all will do so as well.

Val Sonnemann

Gardnerville, Nev.
