Letter to the editor- Just put up the stop sign

To the editor:

Regarding the article on the Aug. 29, “Residents request Sierra Tract stop sign,” there is a “simple fix” for the problem on Lodi Street. Put up stop signs. I thought we lived in a city where health and safety were city business, not state or national standards. When citizens band together as they have on Lodi Street, the city should immediately put up stop signs. It is outrageous that there has to be an accident before the city (Mr. Vidro) acts! Is there any street in a residential area that has 1,200 cars a day?
