Letter to the editor- Let’s build labor camps

Gee, it is great to know that the American Dream is alive and well in

Lake Tahoe. Mr. Hodges’ letter was so full of humanity, humility, compassion

and understanding that I feel compelled to propose a few improvement projects

that we can get started on right away.

1) Post income requirements at all entry points to the basin. This

will certainly help in keeping the riffraff out.

2) Establish minimum spending quotas for all visitors. We can base

them on the length of their stay. Cash only please.

3) Build labor camps outside the basin. Then we can bus in those

undesirable minimum wage workers and make them leave when we are done

abusing, I mean, using them.

4) Enact dress codes and grooming standards. We don’t want to offend

the wealthy with glimpses of reality.

5) Mandate a strict belief system. We wouldn’t want any free thinking

or alternative lifestyles mucking up the view.

You know, together we can build a fictional Lake Tahoe open only to

those who can afford it and of course, deserve it. Preferably the selfish,

greedy, rich, white and conservative.

Mr. Hodges, I would like to be the first to introduce you to the real

world. Welcome. Now, if you can’t handle it, perhaps it is you who should

leave. I understand the next intergalactic shuttle to Fantasyland leaves our

world-class spaceport shortly. A seat has been reserved in you name. Please,

please, please be in it.

Bob Galbreath, Meyers
