Letter to the editor- Story was incomplete

To the editor- I would like to thank the Tahoe Daily Tribune and Gary Kank for reporting on the 24 Hours of Tahoe mountain bike race that took place at Northstar at Tahoe this past weekend. However, typical of sports reporting, Gary failed to mention that along with the top placing Tahoe teams the first place Women’s Expert winners were the Olympic Ladies from Tahoe City. Additionally, Katy Long of Sierra Cycle Works had the fastest overall women’s lap time of 1:12:06. Gary also failed to mention that the Lake Tahoe Wellness Center team from Incline Village won 3rd place in the Mens Expert division, 3rd overall, and had a faster overall lap than Sierra Cycle’s Michael Olson by Mario Gallardo at 1:03:27. Gary missed some additional specifics regarding team Sheetcake from Incline Village, South Lake Tahoe, and Reno, NV: this team placed not only 3rd in the 5 Person Open division, but placed 8th overall. One spot ahead of Sierra Cycle Works in both respects. Nice to know some factoids, but how about giving credit where it is due.
