Letter to the Editor: Think about giving to the Family Resource Center

The most wonderful time of the year has come again and as always, it’s a busy time for the South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center. Every year, members of our community make a wonderful Christmas for so many. The FRC works together with a number of other agencies in our community to provide not only gifts, but food, clothing, and other basic supplies to families in need throughout our community.

As in previous years, the FRC offers many different ways to donate. Through Family Adoption, you can personally sponsor a family and provide gifts or items of your choice. You can even choose to form a relationship with the family by meeting them when delivering your gifts!

Any cash donations received go toward our innovative gift baskets Program. While our adoptions offer the opportunity for families to get presents under the tree, our baskets provide many basic needs, food, clothing, and other items to make sure that every family is prepared to meet the winter months ahead. Our gift baskets not only provide the holiday spirit, but provide the gift of peace of mind.

Donations of any kind are greatly appreciated, whether it be time, funds, or gifts. We invite everyone in our community to visit us at the Family Resource Center, located at 3501 Spruce Avenue, Suite B, on the grounds of Bijou Elementary School.

We thank you for providing another year of this wonderful tradition to our families and our community!
