Letter to the editor- Wrong time to run story

To the editor:

I have to say that beyond a shadow of a doubt, the choice made to run a picture of the 1980s bombing of Harveys was just about the dumbest thing I’ve seen in quite some time. Sorry … I love the Trib and share in the feeling that this circulation should receive the awards it has in recent times. It’s widely known that this community thrives on tourism. In light of an already slowing economy, and the recent events on Sept. 11, that was pretty poor judgment. “That’s it.” “Scare off any of the remaining patrons barely holding our town’s economy together!” “Nice Move!”

The Tahoe Daily Tribune is a great paper … and yes, we all make mistakes; owning up, though, is what makes a world of difference. I’m still a loyal reader, but I am very disappointed.
