Letter: Veterans Day is Nov. 11

We were truly disappointed with the public’s turnout at the American Legion 9-11 ceremony.

You would think that a small community like ours would care more about first responders. America spoke loud and clear that we would never forget. What happened, South Lake Tahoe? Are you taking our brave men and women for granted? Have you forgotten what they do for us?

Veterans Day is coming. We hope you will show the men and women of this fine country that you appreciate them. It’s an hour out of your day to honor those that are with us and those that have fallen. The Legion is proud to put together these ceremonies. The least we can do is attend and show our respect.

Wayne and Sandy McKnight

South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
