Letter — We also live on their land

The actions taken from the El Dorado County Agriculture Department absolutely disgusted me when it took the innocent lives of a mother and her baby cubs.

Now I would understand if the bears would have attack and killed a person, to take appropriate action, but to destroy a kitchen because the owner carelessly left food, its an open invitation for wild animals.

Let me remind the Henderson family, we are in bear country. We are living in their territory.

If $2,000 worth of damages cause such an impact in their lives, imagine all the trash and the parking lots we build in their land, we destroy their homes.

Showing no emotion when innocent wildlife are destroyed, that shows us humans do not respect the land and what makes Lake Tahoe a magical place to live.

As a South Tahoe High School graduate, I’ve been a Lake Tahoe resident all my life

I’ve learned if I want to live in this community, we have to respect our surroundings and deal on who we live by

Relocating the bears would have been a smarter idea, not to capture and kill them just because their hungry.

Now should we murder all birds and squirrels for trespassing in our back yard? what is the difference? If we worry about the bear population boom, their not increasing, human population increases, lets remember there are 6 billion of us. “Poor little bear” give me a break!
