Letter — When right is wrong
In the 2000 presidential election a scary bunch of archconservative Supreme Court judges jimmied open a window in the White House and ushered Texas corporate cowboy George W. Bush into the Oval Office. Thus began the dark night of the American political soul. But, I quibble.
Since that day Bush has turned the country upside down with deficit politics and indefensible tax cuts. Burning questions: Is there a correlation between George W.’s axing of the Community Policing Program and the across the board increase in crime rates? Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin got it right about separation of church and state – why can’t Bush? Does anyone still not know what a conservative and right-winger is after 18 months of the Bush administration?
