Letter — Whittell coach helped kids
February 7, 2003
As a former student at George Whittell High I know that teachers and especially coaches are filtered through the school before they are given the chance to establish themselves.
Mr. Rippet had established himself as a great coach. It was an honor to have him coach me for my senior year. During that time he taught me about leadership and gave me the chance to learn about life. It is a shame that the four-year tracksters will not have the opportunity to train under him this year.
Almost no one has had the opportunity to have the same coach for all their years. It is too bad because every time a new coach is hired a new understanding between players, parents, administrator and coaches has to be reached. My heart goes out to Mr. Rippet and the members of the track team at this moment.
