Letter — Why was public Denied Entry To New Garage On Fourth?

Tribune

On the Fourth of July, we observed people being turned away from the upper

deck of the newly built public parking garage next to the Douglas County

Administration Building.

Entrances had been blocked with only Douglas County employees being allowed entry into the area. When asked about this, the reply given was that this

garage belongs to Douglas County and, therefore, only their employees would

be allowed to view the fireworks from this great vantage point.

We would like a plausible explanation as to why the public was denied entry

when it was their tax dollars which built the facility. Any out there?
