Letter — Wrong time to repair road

We all joke that there are two seasons in Tahoe — winter and road repair. Perhaps the joke is on us. Friday I read about a road project at the “Y” scheduled to begin during the peak of our summer tourist season. We clamor for tourists then make it a challenge for them to get through town. How does the city suggest letting our visitors know about the alternative routes? You tell us why the job needs to be done but no mention on the choice of timing. Could the job start after Labor Day and end mid-October? Those agencies looking out for our best interests are going to be the same agencies that drive tourists and locals to other zip codes.
