Samaritans- Where are you?

To the editor:

After reading in the Tahoe Daily Tribune about the problems the “Turn 3 Bar” is having with the parking issue, I have one question: Where are the Good Samaritans? Why aren’t they assisting these local bars in getting these intoxicated patrons and their vehicles home safely as they say they do.

I have lived on South Shore for 24 years and as always, through the months of March through September, there are fliers posted in numerous bars and restaurants around town advertising for bike shows, Harleys at the Horizons, classic car shows, Cool September Days, etc. All fund-raisers for the “International Good Samaritans Safe Ride Program.” Well, I’ll ask again – “Good Samaritans, where are you?” Our local businesses need your assistance. It would be nice to read something about you other than having fund-raisers. You are being funded for a purpose – aren’t you?
