Sound Check
Radiohead
“Kid A”
Capitol Records
5 on a scale of 5
Radiohead has always put an artsy twist on pop music, but “Kid A” is a whole new approach. Don’t expect those catchy pop riffs they usually offer. This album borders on techno, jazz fusion, and acid jazz, yet somehow the release still holds that catchy, rockin’ Radiohead sound we’re used to hearing. The tracks “Kid A” and “Optimistic” have received radio attention nationwide. It’s no wonder that critics everywhere have taken note of the album as a breakthrough in the world of pop and rock.
