To the editor- Redevelopment good for Tahoe

To the editor- Redevelopment is – at last – creating a world-class new image for our community and making an impression on our visitors from other cities, states and countries.

Heavenly Ski Resort’s recently completed gondola has become the heartbeat of redevelopment – and the catalyst for Marriott – who will soon ” drive the golden spikes” for two major time-share resorts in the surrounding area.

Already, many properties along Lake Tahoe Boulevard (and elsewhere) have changed their image by upgrading with face-lifts, new lawns and flowers – too many, in fact, to list here. Nevertheless, each one deserves our congratulations because each one has benefited us all.

Without a doubt, however, there are exceptions. Some properties are in serious need of rejuvenation to revitalize their street appearance. Repainting, planting flowers and lawns, and making other landscaping improvements will all add to the magnetism of Tahoe and bring more people into your stores and motels, etc. Who benefits? Each of us does!

On your next trip along Lake Tahoe Boulevard, please notice the wonderful changes that have already taken place or are now under way. But also observe those properties that haven ‘t yet chosen to upgrade or otherwise enhance their street appeal.
