What South Lake gave to me

Sitting here under the lights

Listening to the musicians play through the night

Watching the people walk right past

I wonder how long their euphoric high will last

One man drops a bill in the bucket

I wonder if he thinks more luck he will get

I wonder if he really appreciates the sound

I wonder if once before he played on the same ground

I believe there is a spirit here

If you look past the money and the free beer

If you look past the blind and the unaware

You’ll find a place of peace so rare

You find a place unlike any place you know

Where your spirit can breath and grow

But that is only if you let it

The excitement can easily make you forget it

So take off your shoes and walk in the dirt

Connect with the earth let go of the hurt

And you might find that you are free

That is what South Lake Tahoe has given to me!
