Opportunity given to study abroad

Tahoe Daily Tribune

An information meeting is planned Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room D108 at Lake Tahoe Tahoe Community College for next fall’s Study Abroad Program. LTCC is combining with Foothill and DeAnza colleges in the Bay Area to offer students the chance to study a variety of Spanish and English courses with a touch of culinary arts from Oct. 8 to Dec. 6 in Salamanca, Spain.

Known as the “Oxford of the Spanish world,” Salamanca is located in the northwest corner of old Castile. Home to golden medieval buildings, Renaissance palaces and soaring cathedrals, the city rises from the banks of the Tormes River. Salamanca was named the Cultural Capital of 2002 by the European Union and boasts one of the most beautiful plazas, The Plaza Mayor, in all of Spain.
