Optimist Duck race set for June 20

The sixth annual Optimist Club “Day In Paradise” duck races and barbecue will be Saturday, June 20, at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers.

This Optimist Club fundraising event is fun for the whole family. There will be free kids games, prizes, music and food.

The event opens at 10 a.m. and the duck races begin at 11 a.m.

There are two categories: The small duck race and the business duck race. In the small duck competition, first place winner receives $500, second place wins $250 and third place receives $100.

Business ducks, which are decorated by their owners, race for a $1,500 donation to the business’ favorite youth group or organization.

Tickets for each duck cost $5; or five for $20. Business ducks require a donation of $100. For more information, contact any Optimist member or phone at (530) 541-4700.
