This holiday season, the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation is selling a limited edition, pewter holiday ornament created exclusively for the foundation by local artist Nancy Gardner.

All proceeds from the sale will support the foundation.

The cost of the ornament is $25.

The ornament’s design was inspired by the foundation’s Martin Luther King Jr. kids’ clothing giveaway. Each fall the foundation gives new jackets, snowpants, boots, hats and gloves to children in kindergarten through eighth grade whose parents can’t provide the clothing.

LTCC students help fit the children and distribute the clothing.

This is one of the programs the foundation supports, as it encourages students to understand the importance of volunteering and civic responsibility.

The ornaments will be on sale at Ernie’s Restaurant, Tahoe Country and the LTCC Bookstore. Or call the LTCC Foundation office at (530) 541-4660, ext. 344.
