Overnight closure on Nevada Route 28 at Lake Tahoe canceled tonight
A planned overnight closure on Nevada Route 28 along Tahoe’s East Shore has been canceled.
Officials originally scheduled an overnight closure tonight to work on a shared-use path along the highway. However, due to progress made thus far the closure is not needed, the Nevada Department of Transportation announced.
Additional closures are planned for May 14 and 15. During that time both directions of Nevada Route 28 will be closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village and Sand Harbor State Park from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
The closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
Daytime single-lane flagger-controlled closures will continue Monday through Friday from approximately 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nighttime work will continue Sundays through Fridays from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Expect delays of 20-30 minutes.
Do not use or trespass on any section of the path, NDOT stated. The path is anticipated to open in early July after final drainage, landscaping, paving and other work is completed.
