Pack junior DE Basped leaving for NFL draft

RENO – Nevada junior defensive lineman Kevin Basped has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility with the Wolf Pack so he can enter the 2010 NFL draft.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder from Sacramento is among a record 53 non-seniors the NFL announced Tuesday as early entries for the draft.

Basped had 9.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles this past season as a second-team selection to the Western Athletic Conference’s all-league team. He had 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons.
