Pageant contestant seeks sponsorship

Kristen Burrell, 17, a senior at South Tahoe High School, is a delegate for the

2003 Miss Teenage California Scholarship Pageant in Los Angeles, the oldest teen pageant for young women in the state. The pageant is noted for its professionalism and for contributing thousands of dollars in college scholarships to outstanding young women. Over $30,000 in college scholarships and prizes will be awarded this year.

Kristin, as Miss Teen Tahoe Valley, is seeking sponsorship for the pageant from local businesses and individual donors.

Kristin’s educational goals are to attend Duke University or the University of California, Berkeley with the goal of becoming a cognitive psychologist. She is a member of the All League Team in volleyball and the All State Academic Team. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, is listed in Who’s Who Among High School Students, was selected as Soroptimist Young Woman of the Month and is the coordinator for the community chapter of the California Scholarship Federation.
