Parent turns in son on burglary charges
Two juveniles were arrested on burglary charges after they admitted taking more than $6,700 in goods from a house on the 900 block of Patricia Lane, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
The 15- and 16-year-old boys entered through a window while the owner was at work Thursday, the officer said.
A $3,000 laptop and $2,500 remote-controlled truck were some of the items taken and later recovered. Three diamond rings also were stolen, the officer said.
A suspect’s father reportedly found some of the hot goods and called police. In other news:
n A 23-year-old man was arrested on charges of concealing a weapon and possession of concentrated cannabis when he walked up to a patrol officer and reportedly said he didn’t want the more than 30 grams of marijuana on his person and wanted help, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
The man was arrested Thursday night near Miller’s Outpost on Lake Tahoe Boulevard. A butterfly knife was also found on the man, the officer said.
n David Zuber, 34, was arrested Sunday on charges of failing to register as a sex offender and violation of probation when officers found him visiting a house where a 14-year-old girl resides, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
Zuber and a friend were seen suspiciously hanging out at Timber Cove Lodge by an officer who trailed the two until they reached the house, the officer said.
n A 21-year-old woman reported the brake lines cut on her 2000 Dodge pickup, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
n A 33-year-old Oakland man was arrested early Saturday morning on two warrants after there were reports of a person laying a spike strip in the middle of the road at Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Stateline Avenue, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
Officers went to investigate the matter and to look for the suspect who was carrying a black duffel bag.
The Oakland man was arrested when he matched the suspect’s description and the warrants were discovered, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said. The spike strip report was later unfounded.
n Four juveniles were arrested and released after a Friday fight at South Tahoe High School, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
No serious injuries were reported but one juvenile was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital after he complained of pain, the officer said.
n A 13-year-old was cited and released Friday after his parents reported that he took $800 from them, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.
n A 26-year-old man was arrested on charges of corporal injury on a spouse and child endangerment after he allegedly pinched and slapped his daughter six times and slapped his wife once during an argument early Friday morning, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — A flash flood watch has been extended for the Lake Tahoe area.
