Jeff Munson, Tribune staff writer

A 31-year-old woman was arrested early Monday on charges of being under the influence of methamphetamine.

The incident happened at 1:30 a.m. Two officers on a patrol saw an abandoned Volkswagen Fox stopped at Pioneer Trail and Aspenwald Road. That’s when the suspect walked up to the vehicle and identified the car as hers.

Officers detected rapid speech and general nervousness and agitation from the woman. An officer asked the woman, whose hometown is unknown, to see her eyes, which were dilated. She confessed to one of the officers that she was under the influence of methamphetamine.
