Seniors 50 and older are invited to attend a holiday party sponsored by South Lake Tahoe Senior Citizens Inc. The event will take place Dec. 3 at the Horizon Casino Resort.

Beginning at 10:45 a.m., no host drinks may be purchased from the casino and brought back to the banquet room. At that time those who wish may join in the singing of holiday songs. At 11:30 a.m. there will be a brief installation of officers for 2006. Lunch will be served at noon with a prior choice of broiled salmon, chicken Milanese, vegetarian lasagna or roast top sirloin beef. Selection will be made when tickets are purchased.

Lake Tahoe’s Shining Stars from the Marcia Sarosik dance studio will entertain at 1 p.m. The performers, ranging in age from 21Ú2 through high school will present a holiday revue of tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical dance and clogging. Many of the dances are set to holiday favorites like “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.” There will be selections from the “Nutcracker Suite” and dances from their 2005 spring recital.

Gifts will be distributed to all the participants at the party following the entertainment.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday. The cost is $10 for members and $19 for guests. Membership, which includes a monthly newsletter, is only $10 a year.
