Party to showcase education center

Tribune staff report

On June 19, the League to Save Lake Tahoe invites the public to its annual Summer Kickoff party from 5 to 8 pm. The party will celebrate volunteers and partners and features the grand re-opening of the Fritzi & David Huntington Environmental Education Center in South Lake Tahoe. Tahoe residents and visitors are welcome at this free event. Food will be supplied by the Lighthouse Beach Grill, beer provided by Blue Moon, wine tasting by Etude Winery, live music by D.J. Rippin’ Riff Cassidy, activities and prizes. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite ‘50s attire and bring bikes and beach chairs.

The Fritzi & David Huntington Environmental Education Center overhaul will improve the League’s ability to educate and engage the public about threats facing the lake and how to protect Lake Tahoe.
