Party will mark Relay for Life success
Relay for Life will celebrate the overwhelming success of its first relay in South Lake Tahoe from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kahle Community Park. More than $112,000 was raised and more than 800 people and 40 teams participated in the overnight event July 22 and 23 at Kahle Park.
The community is invited to come to the celebration and learn how to be part of a committee for next year’s relay. Volunteers are the cornerstone of the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life and the volunteers were amazing. We can make next year’s relay even better.
Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. Why join Relay For Life? How would it feel when a cure for cancer is found to say, “I helped”?
Donations are still being accepted. Mail to Judi Sparrow, Relay for Life, P.O. Box 11372, Zephyr Cove, NV 89448 or for more information call (775) 586-1066. Thanks for all you have done to fight cancer and to make our community event a success. There is no finish line until we find a cure.
