“The Glory of Love,” from the “Karate Kid II” soundtrack, is among the hits by a performer taking the stage at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa this weekend.

The Academy Award-nominated song is one of singer-songwriter Peter Cetera’s classics. He performs in MontBleu’s theater Saturday.

Cetera began his career as a member of Chicago before breaking out on his own.

“From 1968 thru 1986 Peter was the singer, songwriter, and bass player for the legendary rock group ‘Chicago,’” according to an online biography for Cetera. “In his time with the group, they recorded 18 of the most memorable albums of a generation, including such hits as ‘If You Leave Me Now,’ ‘Hard to Say I’m Sorry,’ ‘Baby What a Big Surprise,’ ‘You’re the Inspiration,’ ‘Stay the Night,’ ‘Love Me Tomorrow,’ ‘Happy Man,’ ‘Feeling Stronger Every Day’ and ‘Along Comes a Woman.’”

Cetera has also recorded 10 solo albums during his career. “The Next Time I Fall” with Amy Grant, “Feels Like Heaven” with Chaka Kahn, “After All” with Cher and “No Explanation” from “Pretty Woman” and “Restless Heart” are among Cetera’s fan-favorite songs.

Cetera is currently touring with his seven-piece electric band, The Bad Daddy’s.

MontBleu is located at 55 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
