Bassist Mike Gordon — known primarily as a founding member of the rock group Phish — makes a stop in Stateline on Sunday, Feb. 11, as part of his 2018 tour that kicked off mid-January in Florida.
“Bass has been Mike’s passion — he learned ways of combining propulsion with flight, opposing integral components of new musical ecstasy,” states the musician’s online biography.
It’s a style that shines through in his latest release, “OGOGO,” which debuted in September 2017 and features the hit “Steps.”
This weekend Gordon performs at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa alongside his band, which includes fellow artists Scott Murawski, Robert Walter, John Morgan Kimock and Craig Myers.
“Scott can rip guitar to no end, and he belts out with the kind of voice that at once sounds like your best friend and like the deep backwoods soul and grit of a true American hobo hero, too cool to talk in normal small-talk,” continues the bio.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are available at http://www.montbleuresort.com and at the MontBleu box office for $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the show. Prices do not include tax or fees, and guests must be at least 21 years old in order to attend.
MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa is located at 55 U.S. 50.
Can’t make it to this Sunday’s gig? Gordon returns to South Shore with Phish as part of the 2018 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 17-18. Learn more about the series at http://www.tahoedailytribune.com.
