Photographer funds scholarships
May 28, 2008
For the second year in a row, Dr. Forrest Patin has funded the Tahoe Art League scholarship program. In 2007, he gave $3,000 for three art scholarships at Lake Tahoe Community College and $2,000 for high school scholarships for artists from Whittell and South Lake Tahoe high schools.
In 2008, he launched the TAL scholarship program with increased support, giving $3,000 for the LTCC scholarships and $3,000 for the high school scholarships. Additionally, Patin presented TAL elementary arts chairwoman Joy Rogers with a check for $2,000 to benefit the arts in the elementary schools.
Patin is a photographer who travels extensively and is the owner of WorldwidePhoto.biz. He also is the owner and president of Center for Professional Development (center4prodev.com). He has contributed his expertise in leadership, organizational and motivational skills to the Tahoe Art League over the past two years.
His work and creative guidance were evident in the first artists registry TAL published last year. After the success of that effort, Patin has given his time, skills and sales effort toward the creation of a bigger and even better 2008-09 artists registry.
