Photographer to share his work
Forest Service employee Tim Rains will share his favorite Lake Tahoe photos and his knowledge of photography at 8 p.m. Thursday. This free photo adventure will take place at the Lake of the Sky Amphitheater at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center off State Route 89.
Rains has been taking photos of the Lake Tahoe area as a Forest Service employee for three years. Besides shooting photos in the Tahoe area, he has camped and backpacked throughout the West in numerous state and national parks. He has built up a considerable collection of photos, some of which will be seen in the program. The Forest Service has used Rains’ photos in many brochures, poster, exhibits and other places where a photo was needed. His favorite place to photograph is around the Visitor Center, and especially the Rainbow Trail where he takes excellent wildflower photos.
This program is sponsored by the Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the environment education programs conducted by the Forest Service in the Tahoe Basin.
