Pied Piper holds auditions

Tahoe Arts Project and the Missoula Children’s Theater will conduct auditions for “The Pied Piper” from 10 a.m. to noon at Bijou Elementary School. All those auditioning should arrive at 10 a.m. and plan to stay for two full hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions.

Among the 60 roles to be cast are the Pied Piper, the mayor’s son, daughter and council, cooks, townspeople of Hamelin and the troublesome rats. Assistant directors will be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

Auditions are open to youth ages 5 through 17 and are free of charge. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. There is no charge to children who are cast in the play and no advance preparation is needed.

Youths who are cast will need to be available for rehearsals from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 16 trough 20, depending on their roles, and July 21 for a dress rehearsal at noon and two performances at 3 and 7 p.m. Children who will not be available during any of these times are asked not to audition. It is very important that they attend all rehearsals.

Missoula Children’s Theater touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and make-up. The Missoula Children’s Theater residency is presented by Tahoe Arts Project. For more information call Tahoe Arts Project at (530) 542-3632.
