Plane crash south of Lake Tahoe kills pilot

Firefighters on scene at a plane crash near Woodfords south of Lake Tahoe canceled a response by CareFlight helicopter after determining whoever was in the aircraft was dead.
The report came in at 11:26 a.m.
Firefighters have reported finding one person in the aircraft.
Emergency personnel are responding to a location near Woodfords for a report
of a single-engine aircraft.
A Piper PA-28 Cherokee was reported in distress to Alpine County authorities

Alpine and Douglas county rescuers are on the scene. Care Flight ambulance
helicopter is on its way. Firefighters on the scene called for extrication
equipment to remove the aircraft’s occupants.
