‘Plant a Tree Day’ scheduled

The public is invited to join the Nevada Conservation Corps and Incline Middle School for “Plant a Tree Day” Oct. 20 at Nevada State Park. Corps members and student volunteers will be on hand to lead the tree planting and forest restoration project. Volunteers will be organized into teams at 9 a.m., attend a workshop on tree planting and forest ecology and then work throughout the afternoon with a break for lunch.

Those interested need to bring a sack lunch, full water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing and work gloves. Meet at Spooner Lake State Park at 9 a.m.

Spooner Lake is located on Highway 28 north of the Highway 50 junction and several miles south of Sand Harbor.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state Monday in response to improving coronavirus conditions, returning the state to a system of county-by-county restrictions, state health officials announced.
