Plenty of summer activities at Tallac Historic Site

A variety of interpretive programs for adults are offered at the Tallac Historic Site throughout the summer. For reservations and more information call the Baldwin Museum at (530) 541-5227 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the museum.

— Pope House Tours are offered at 11 a.m., 1 and 2:30 p.m. daily except Thursday. The tour meets on the lakeside porch of the Pope House. Tickets are $5.

— Boats of Tahoe is at 3 p.m. each Wednesday. The tour is free of charge and meets at the Pope Boathouse. Everyone is welcome to take a look back at the maritime history of the South Shore, especially the steamers and race boats that were used at the turn of the century and through the 1920s.

— Tea With Mrs. Tevis begins at 2 p.m. each Thursday. Tours meet on the lakeside porch of the Pope House. Come have afternoon tea with Susan Sanders Tevis on the porch of the Tevis-Pope House and enjoy a stroll in the arboretum. The event is for ages 12 and up and the cost is $12.50.

— An Afternoon With Anita gets under way at 1 p.m. on Fridays. The tour meets in the Honeymoon Cottage on the Pope Estate. Guests will listen to the various tales and memories of Anita Baldwin, Lucky Baldwin’s daughter, as she recounts stories of the Baldwin Resort and Casino and refreshments are served. The event is for ages 12 and up and the cost is $12.50 per person.

— Lucky’s Legacy Tour takes place at 1 p.m. each Saturday as well as other impromptu days and times. The tour meets on the lake side of the Baldwin Museum. Visitors will step back in time to the very early 1900s and, with the help of a costumed tour guide, envision the grandeur of the Tallac Resort and Casino. All ages are welcome and the cost is $3 each.
