Police announce DUI patrols, checkpoint

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The El Dorado County Avoid the 6 DUI task force has announced upcoming saturation patrols and a DUI checkpoint for its Winter Holiday DUI Campaign.

Saturation patrols for drunken drivers will take place from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Dec. 18, Dec. 26, Dec. 28 and Dec. 30 in South Lake Tahoe, according to a statement from the program. A DUI checkpoint in the city is planned for 7 p.m. Dec. 23 to 3 a.m. Dec. 24.

Funding for the program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
