Police arrest suspect in Wells Fargo robbery

Provided to the TribuneJoshua Schauert, 26, of South Lake Tahoe, was arrested Sunday for allegedly robbing the Wells Fargo at the Village Shopping Center on March 29.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Lake Tahoe police arrested Joshua Schauert, a South Lake Tahoe resident, Sunday on suspicion of a March 29 bank robbery at the Village Shopping Center.

Schauert, 26, was identified as the suspect after a security camera at the bank captured photos of the robber. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police investigators found that Schauert had listed a laptop for sale on Craigslist. Officers, acting undercover, offered to buy the laptop. When Schauert arrived to sell the item, officers arrested him.

Police are investigating whether the laptop is stolen.

Schauert is being held at El Dorado County Jail.
