Police award ceremony to be held Thursday

In conjunction with Memorial Day, and the National Peace Officer’s Memorial Week, The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) will hold its annual award ceremony on Thursday at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend as the presentations are made in front of the police department. Seating will be available and refreshments will be offered during the reception that immediately follows.

The employee’s receiving recognition at this year’s award ceremony is as follows: Sgt. Shannon Norrgard – Meritorious Service; Sgt. Shannon Laney – Meritorious Service; Dispatcher Jillian Broadfoot – Distinguished Service; Officer Barry Rider – Distinguished Service; Officer Brian Hannink – Community Service Award; Officer Cory Wilson – MADD Award; Officer Chris Webber – MADD Award; and Officer Ross Molesworth Rotary Community Hero Award

Immediately following the Award Ceremony, the SLTPD will be swearing in K-9s, Quattro and Tara.
