Police investigate Friday shooting

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Lake Tahoe police are searching for a suspect involved in a Friday shooting that sent a 26-year-old South Lake Tahoe man to the hospital with a head wound.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. on the 1000 Block of Julie Lane, said Lt. David Stevenson in a statement.

Officers contacted the victim, who had what appeared to be a “grazing” type wound to the head, Stevenson said.

South Lake Tahoe SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams were called in to assist with a search for the suspect. The FBI also assisted, Stevenson said.

The suspect was known to the victim, but has not been located.

The victim was treated and released from Barton Memorial Hospital.

No description of the suspect was given.

The incident is under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to call Det. Jeff Roberson at 530-542-6134.
