SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif – South Lake Tahoe police are looking for a man who may have been involved in the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl on Wednesday.

About 11:25 a.m., police responded to the area of 3rd Street and Ruth Avenue for a report of an attempted abduction, according to a statement from Detective Doug Sentell.

The girl told police she was riding her bicycle on 3rd Street when a white, four-door car pulled in front of her bicycle and stopped.

The driver, a white male who appeared to be around 35 years old, allegedly told her something in an attempt to lure her into the car.

The girl fled the area on her bicycle, got to a safe place and called police, Sentell said.

Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

The suspect in the case is believed to be a white man, around 35 years old, who is slightly above average weight. The suspect had a shaved head and blond-colored eyebrows, Sentell said.

The victim also noted a mole on the left side of the suspect’s neck.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white four-door car with a squared-off rear end. The victim believed she saw a Toyota emblem on the vehicle, Sentell said.

Anyone with information the incident is asked to contact Sentell at 530-542-6100.
