Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob American Gasoline at 2762 Lake Tahoe Blvd. earlier this week.

The man walked into the gas station about 11:15 p.m. Saturday and demanded money from the clerk, said Lt. David Stevenson. The clerk said she didn’t have any money and the man partially exposed a black handgun, Stevenson said.

The clerk continued to tell the attempted robber the gas station didn’t have any money. The man grew frustrated and left empty-handed, Stevenson said.

The man is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a thin build, dark eyes and a dark complexion. The man was reportedly wearing tan pants, a black sweatshirt and had a red bandana wrapped around his face at the time of the incident.

It’s unclear whether the gun was real, Stevenson said.
