Police looking to nab drunken drivers

Extra officers will hit the streets of South Lake Tahoe on Saturdays looking for drunken drivers.
The effort is part of increased drunken-driving enforcement planned for the coming year, paid for through a $67,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department will have extra officers looking for drunken drivers at least twice a month, on either Friday or Saturday nights ” with more during holiday periods, according to a statement from the police department.
