Police Report: Man allegedly tries to break through door with ax
The following is a partial list of incidents handled by South Lake Tahoe police. Information came from the department’s incident log and Lt. Marty Hale.
— A man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and violation of parole around 7:25 p.m. Dec. 6 after he allegedly broke a hole in his mother’s bedroom door with an ax and threatened her. When he saw his mother calling the police through the hole, he ran downstairs, where he was apprehended by officers and arrested.
— A man who had not seen his neighbor for several days discovered the morning of Dec. 6 that the man had died in a Craig Avenue residence. Police did not consider the death suspicious. An autopsy is pending.
“Everything is leading to natural causes,” Hale said.
— A be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) advisory was issued after the driver of a dark gray Ford pickup was observed doing doughnuts in the area of Bonanza Trail and High Meadow Trail around 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The vehicle last was seen on High Meadow Trail. The California Highway Patrol was advised.
— A BOLO was issued at 2:09 a.m. Dec. 9 after the driver of a silver Mazda was seen driving while apparently intoxicated after leaving Bill’s Casino.
— The driver of a green golf cart with a white top was seen driving with children inside on Pickett Avenue near Craig Avenue at 3:24 p.m. Dec. 9. The driver was making 360-degree turns.
— An apparently intoxicated man was arrested on suspicion of not having a license, driving under the influence and violating a court order Dec. 7 on Spruce Avenue. A woman saw the man driving and recognized him. She had filed a restraining order against him.
