Police search for convenience store robber

Tahoe Daily Tribune Staff Reports

Stop N Save Gas Liquor Market on Lake Tahoe Boulevard was robbed Wednesday, sending police out in pursuit of the suspect that evening, according to reports.

By all appearances, no one looked hurt at the convenience store at 2470 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

At 5:12 p.m. a 911 caller said the female robber declared she had a gun, but no weapon was seen. The suspect was identified as white, approximately 18 years old, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

A South Lake Tahoe police officer declined to say if the suspect got away with any cash, as he reviewed the surveillance camera images with witnesses at the Lodi Avenue store.

Local convenience stores have experienced a rash of robberies through the fall and winter months. Three teens who pleaded guilty to a string of robberies are due for sentencing June 7.
