Two young men are being sought by police for questioning in an attack on a bicyclist last month on Lake Tahoe Boulevard near Holiday Inn Express.

The attack happened Aug. 21 around 10:25 p.m. after the bicyclist in his late 20s passed a bus stop, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said. The two suspects confronted the man and then attacked him, punching him numerous times in the face and head, resulting in a broken nose and several facial fractures, the officer said.

After the attack, the two suspects ran across Lake Tahoe Boulevard and through the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store, the officer said. Later, two men in a grocery store were allegedly overheard talking about the attack and were photographed by a concerned citizen.

The two were described as white males, 16 to 19 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, the police officer said. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact Officer Doug Sentell at (530) 542-6100.
