Police seek South Lake Tahoe robbery suspect

South Lake Tahoe Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a souvenir shop Saturday.

The man walked into Lake Tahoe Souvenirs about 7:45 p.m., allegedly pushed a clerk at the store against a cabinet and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, according to a statement from police.

The man then fled to a vehicle in the parking lot, where an “accomplice driver” was waiting, according to the statement.

The suspect was described as an unshaven white male adult, 40 to 50 years old, approximately six feet tall, with average build wearing a dark gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt and a black knit cap.

This man had come into the store earlier in the day asking for change, according to the statement.

Police expect to receive surveillance footage of the incident soon and ask anyone with information regarding this case to contact Officer Ray Poole at 530-542-6100.
