Police seeking suspect in purse thefts at Stateline casinos

STATELINE — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect connected to two purse thefts at Stateline casinos in October.

Two victims had their purses stolen in separate incidents in the women’s bathrooms at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa on Saturday, Oct. 22, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A review of surveillance footage revealed the same suspect was responsible for both thefts. A black adult female entered into both restrooms with a large purse that appeared empty. Upon exiting the restrooms, the purse appeared full.

Both victims had cash, credit cards and passports in their purses.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest or conviction of the suspect.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call DCSO Dispatch at 775- 782-5126, Douglas County Secret Witness at 775-78-CRIME (775-782-7463), or DCSO Investigator Jarrod Guilford at 775-586-7256.
