Pop Warner holding sign-ups this week
April 26, 2005
Sign-ups for the 2005 South Tahoe Pop Warner Football and Cheer season will take place during Thursday’s open house at the Sierra House, Bijou and Tahoe Valley elementary schools.
The cost for ages 5-14 is $140 for football players, which includes uniform, pads, helmet, socks and mouthguard and $60 for cheerleaders plus cost of uniform. Discounts are available for multiple children, and scholarships are available for eligible participants.
All new and returning players and cheerleaders must bring their birth certificates to registration. They will need to provide a copy of their final 2005 school year report card and a current 2005 physical by the first day of practice. Free physicals will take place in July, (date to be announced). Mandatory conditioning and practice is tentatively scheduled to begin Aug. 1.
We are pleased to announce a new division for the 2005 season. “Tiny-Mites” for football players and cheerleaders ages 5 to 7, which will give the younger children in our community an early start in the Pop Warner organization and provide them with the beginning fundamentals and excitement of the sport.
