Poster contest deadline looms

Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority is sponsoring a national tourism week poster contest for California and Nevada students in two age categories: 8 to 13 and 14 to 18 (age as of April 1).

The theme is “Lake Tahoe – Step into the Blue.” The welcome to Lake Tahoe theme can showcase the scenic beauty of the lake and/or the variety of activities to enjoy in the area.

The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on April 26. Winners will be announced by May 2. First prize is a 2005/06 season pass to Sierra-at-Tahoe and second prize is $50 cash donated by Tahoe Beach & Ski Club.

Poster Guidelines:

— Poster must be no larger than 11-by-17 inches and no smaller than 8 1Ú2 -by-11 inches.

— May be horizontal or vertical.

Recommended Stories For You

— Should not be laminated or mounted on board.

— Should not have student’s name or age visible on the front.

— Students may use watercolor, ink, crayon, chalk or markers.

— Computer clip art, pictures from magazines and other print media, or any copyrighted brand or product images will not be accepted.

— Only original posters will be accepted. No photocopies, photographs or other duplications.

— Each poster must have a separate sheet paper-clipped to the poster listing the student’s name, age, mailing address and contact phone number.

First- and second-place winners will be chosen from each age group.
