Potluck features cowboy poetry

Artist, poet and prose writer Vern Lee will recite and act out some of his poems Aug. 3 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center potluck dinner meeting. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Lee is known at other venues in the community as the “Cowboy Poet” and as such will entertain in the Valhalla Boathouse Theater Aug. 9. He has a wide variety of subjects in his repertoire of many writings, in addition to those pertaining to cowboys.

Members who attend the potluck meeting will have an opportunity to win a $25 door prize. Guests are welcome and are eligible to win a cash prize in a raffle drawing. All participants are requested to bring a dish for six people as well as their own plates and utensils.
